Hell my dad had a 64 Galaxie two door all original 289, auto, factory A/C, ps car. Well it needed restoration bad! He ended up selling it for $500 and didn't tell me. Talk about pissed! The guy that bought it had it on craigslist for $4000 within a week.

Just watched the Galaxie episode. Can't believe they got 24k for the 352 auto they bought for $7500. And all they did was cut the springs, new wheels and exhaust. Maybe i need to take my car to auction.
You remember the stories John use to tell us about the the three chinamen playing Fantan? This guy runs up to them and says, "Hey, the world's coming to an end!" and the first one says, "Well, I best go to the mission and pray," and the second one says, "Well, hell, I'm gonna go and buy me a case of Mezcal and six whores," and the third one says "Well, I'm gonna finish the game." I shall finish the game, Doc.

I found that hard to believe too. Usually when you see galaxie's for sale they don't bring near that kind of coin. They are usually hard to sell from what I've seen. Unless they are one of the rare factory race cars or an original 427 car.

I know exactly what you're saying man. Luckily my Grandpa sold me (gave me) my 63 Fairlane that I posted for 1$. He said he wanted me to have it for the sole reason that he knew out of all the grand kids that I was the only one that would ever do anything with it.

As the youngest grandkid, I was real proud of that, and felt a personal obligation to do something with that car just for him and the rest of the family. His mother (my great grandma) bought this car as the 2nd owner in 1968, and parked it in 1982 with only 46k miles on it. I have pics from last Christmas of me taking my GrandDad for a ride in this very car if anyone cares to see. They might be cool pics to some of you, and some of you might not care at all, but I am more proud of those pics than any others of me and something I've done in my 30 years of life.

To me, and more importantly my family, this is more than just an old car. It's a part of our family. Last year I dug gum wrappers out of the ashtray in the back of the front seat. I mentioned that to my Dad and he said the him and my uncle put those there in the late 60's.

Those kinds of stories can not be replaced. I could go on and on with this.
This is exactly what JC316 is talking about.

the show kinda bugs me. When I saw the commercial I thought they where making cars "fast and loud". Seems like all that's really going on is the rip people off fast, and the owner is loud.

just watched episode 4 on demand. And I'm calling it a one season flop. What a joke. I'd have been pissed if I found out that that 20+k car I bought had stock cut springs.
