Pretty cool that he stayed in the sport as long as he did. Even just a few years ago he was a crew chief on Dave Connolley's NHRA Pro Stocker. Not sure what he did the past few years, besides auction-off a couple of his "toys." R.I.P. Mr Jenkins!! :-(

He's done so much for the sport it's unreal. Especially for Pro Stock and the advancements in Small Block technology just to name a few.
I had the pleaser of meeting him serveral times over the years at National events and a few divisions where he was there helping out some Comp Elim races.
                      Just a awesome old man.

Actually, I think that was Smokey, not Grumpy.

engines will convert more energy (i.e. fuel) to gas with the temperature of 240-250 than 180. problem is controlling and sustaining that high temperature.

I was sad to hear he passed away. Never met him, but have a few friends that used motors in Comp that he built. They told some great stories about him.

A buddy was running a B/A with a Jenkins engine and Grumpy came by to read the plugs to help with the tune. My buddy ran the set of plugs more than the one pass that Grump said to run them. Grump looked at them, basically grunted, handed it back and said put in new plugs and get him then.
                            Some cars and a bike...

Some say... they have been raced, some a lot
