Also most single layer is not a fire suit it's washed in fire retardant chemical. That means you clean it with out washing in the stuff it's just like wearing a regular jacket and pants. Spend the money and at least get a double layer. Most people I race with think I am stupid cause I have a 10lb fire system and wear double layer jacket, pants, gloves and shoes. But then again I have seen some one burn in a car and come out with 3rd degree burns on there legs. Not a fun thing. Just spend the extra money on a suit and don't look back. You can't put a dollar value on your life!!

I think it's funny when a person spends $450 dollar on a helmet but only $100 on jacket and pants.

Same here. I have a full suit, gloves, shoes, helmet etc. I even looked at a Hans device, but not sure on that one yet. Fire system is in as well.

I am going to get a double layer. I don't have a fire system yet, but I do keep a fire extinguisher in the car with me at all times (I know, I'm a cheap ass, that is retarded, don't skimp, etc., it's what I've got now). I think I am going to order the Summit jacket/pants, it is Multi-Layer Pyrovatex.

Can you get out of your mangled car that's on fire while upside down in under 10 seconds?

if i cant get out in 10 seconds i'll probably need something that is good for 2 minutes then since it probably means i am going to have to wait it out for the rescue crew.

Is your pricing on that about the same as the Summit sale price?

Have you looked into the Necksgen?

Manufacturer of auto racing and off road safety equipment specializing in head and neck restraints.

Ive been eyefucking them for a while, Ill get one before the end of the year. From what I can read up on this compaired to the other 3-4 offerings, the Necksgen offers side impact protection. The HANS was designed for use with a full containment seat, so that isnt a feature on it. Especially with a drag car, the impact force wouldnt be straight forward very often, and if the car was to roll, most likely to be sideways and not end-over.

Plus the full range of motion would be nice as well.

EDIT* the lemons store offers free shipping on them, http://store.24hoursoflemons.com/Nec...ice?tag=safety

I have seen those (at the track), and didn't know what it was called. That's a nice piece - I'll check into that when I buy one. Thanks for the link.

they are a redesign of the defender(sp?) model, you may have seen those as well. Apparently HANS has a crack legal team that keeps anything with similarity to their product on the market long.
