Anti power adder?

So I was watching pass times on speed. They questioning the driver about his car like they always do.... a 67 camaro with a 489ci big block. One contestant asked the driver if he had a power adder, and his response puzzled me. He said, (in a stern voice) "I don't believe in that!". So I thought okay this guys got big cubes and a lot of tire, maybe its just that nasty. Then he ran a 10.15 at 131. I'm not saying my shit will go that fast, but I would think if your going to scoff at boost, maybe you should back it up? And why be like that in the first place? I know people have been shit talking the bottle for a long time, but this "fuck all power adders" thing just doesn't add up. Are they envious, or think its cheating? I don't get it. that to me is like saying you don't believe in breathing while running.
Do we have any anti power adder people here? why all the hate?

Shoot, I am old school. But I believe in "Run what you brung". If I could afford to put a turbo on the SS, it would have one. But with that said, pretty much any old school people don't believe in power adders. Some people are just scared of what they don't understand.

2 friends ages 30&32 of mine have almost unlimited family money(oil money)..1 has an LT1 camaro and has done nothing but all motor combos making around 500hp give or take a little on each motor...His older brother is like this too..he has 2 67 camaros and both have all motor combos..They do not believe in power adders for some odd reason even though they have the money to do it..and I have found that almost all chevy guys are like this...You will find a bottle way before you find a blower or turbo

Go to the track and count the number of turbo, supercharged, and nitrous cars that are slower than he is. I assure you, there are a lot.

So what if he enjoys running all-motor? No complicated tuning, no bottle to fill, no crank bearing or keyway issues, no hacking the car to fit an intercooler, no heat soak issues.

Just start it up and run close to a 9, reliably and consistently... sounds fine to me. I'm sure some of you guys that have crazy power adder setups would trade off some ET for a fun car you could just hop in and go deep 10s with.

Um, modern 500" pro stock cars run 6.50's with no power adders, they are also in the 1490-1510 hp range
