  • Will Kdale let you in to buy race fuel without paying admission?

Is there any way to just go and buy some fuel without paying to race/spectate? They are probably the closest to me that sells VP M1. I assume the only time the fuel depot is open is while they are racing so I figure I'd have to pay the entrance fee as well.

On a side note, is there anywhere in Arlington that sells M1 at a reasonable price besides Kdale?

thanks, they sell it by the gallon too, my fear with smileys was that they were going to make me buy one of those containers of it vs. just letting me take it in my own container. Not a bad price either. Now I've just gotta figure out how to get up there before 4pm when I work 7-5pm.

i'm taking friday off so hopefully i'll get a chance to swing by smiles. i appreciate the offer though and if something comes up i may need you to do it after all. looks like smileys gets like 3.25 gal for it. just going to buy 4 gallons this time, then add a gallon of distilled water to get the 80/20 mix.

Everything goes right, If, I should be headed home with an empty 55 gal drum and 6 5 gal jugs empty.

Why are you running a mix? Running it as straight m1 will work fine unless you are still on the homemade meth system kick.

I run vp m3 in all of the meth systems I install and tune.

Went with the AIS setup. Rodney recommended the 80/20 as he said the water really does have a place helping dissipate the heat and the meth helps with knock suppression (although he said the 50/50 mix is excessive).

I am worried about my IAT's getting out of hand as it is setup now, the LX front clip doesn't let much air through the IC and I don't really want to hack up the fascia. I saw 153* IAT's in ~50* ambient and this was with me pedaling the first 4.2 seconds of the run (only WOT for ~3 seconds). While 153* isn't that high, it was pretty cold outside, I imagine that when it starts really getting warm outside those IAT's are going to spike. With the IAT vs. advance table I had in the tune it was pulling 7* of timing for the entire pass (5.5* total advance).

My goal is to extend the #7 pistons life, seems like keeping the IAT's/detonation/AFR is the ticket.

Yes. You just tell them you are getting fuel and they will hold to your id untill you get back.

There is a pump in Van Alstyne that sells "race fuel". Exit 51, gas station on the NE corner.

just giving you some heads up, smileys does not sell VP, we bought 2 drums of M1 and ran it in the promod, it is not the same as VP, like it is cut down. Gaylen at Lenmar sells VP. I will look tomorrow to see what I have in the shop. We are in arlington, if I do not have any VP, I still have some of smileys M1, the only thing is I added top lube.

The placement of your IAT sensor is causing your high IAT's. Get it away from the radiator and fans if you want real time air temp.

How much timing do you have at 15lbs?
Are you still using pump fuel?
What is your IDC at 15lbs?
