Just too much to change right now. I have all of the traditional parts, and it could be cheaply fixed for under 100$. I'll probably put a good cam in it this time around. Not sure if I'll redo the shortblock or not though.

I'll check into that Danny, I've been meaning to go over there and check that site out - I'm sure its' a wealth of info.
Lason, man... IDK about just changing the cam, this thing went flat in about a total of 1 hour of run time. I suspect it was the lifter bore, they all had light surface rust when it was initially put together - maybe I missed one?
I'd suspect the bearings are pretty tore up from that much hard metal. All that combined wtih the already present blowby, man I can't trust it.
I have my eyes on a few different engines. It would be nice to build one that runs about 6.80's on motor.. it would be easy to slow it down to run the 7.0 class..

Brooks, apparently breakin with flat tappet cams requires an additive now, moreso than ever. Oil has had all the good shit taken out, and so has fuel.
We did nearly the same thing to a 351 in less run time, all the lobes went flat after about 30 mins. Everything checked out fine, so the only thing left is oil, as we were told."If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford

Man, just last year I did the same thing in my other truck - no problems. that's sad that they've taken the good shit from the oil!"If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford
