It did get better (the track) as the night went on but denton is known for prepping the start line and that's it so the rest of the way is a gamble. But I will say I don't think it was track prep issue as much as a track maintanance issue. I mean cars leak shit all the time. How many race cars have you seen that don't leak or seep something. Hell last pass of the night a red coupe ,grudge race, hit the wall.

Overall decent turn out with a lot of nice cars and some good damn good races
While I certainly understand the reason for thinking track prep/maintenance was an issue, unless you just sit and watch for hours on end, there are quite a few things that can be easily missed as a racer or casual spectator.

Between Friday and Saturday night, we used approximately 35 gallons of VHT on the entire length of the track, in addition to dozens of passes with the tractor (dragging) and dozens of passes with the blower. After talking to the drivers and looking at the evidence from the crashes, they all appear (on the surface) to have been avoidable and not related to the track surface. In the two accidents last night, both drivers were well off the racing surface before they lost control.

I agree with what was said there were alot of cars set on kill. We did our best to keep up with them, even spraying the length of the track twice, during the event. Sometimes, regardless of how much effort you put into making the track as sticky as possible, other factors come in to play (heat, tires, tire shake, etc) We are not, and will not ever be, perfect. All we try to do is provide the best surface possible and run the best event possible.

Thanks for your continued support of NSD.

I did not have problem with the track. I cut the best 60ft times ever, just adjusted shocks once and carried the wheels all nite, to the win in the 6.0 class. Thanks to Nick and Larry for the very nice track.

Denton is a good track and not taking anything away from you guys. I remember when it was a total crap hole and its nice track now. As I said cars leak and there is just nothing you can do about it sometimes. Accidents happen and its a dangerous sport we all knowingly take part in. It was just very scary to see and the fence post in the windows was a clear reminder anything can happen in a split second. With that being said there were a handfull of cars making 4.9x passes and the track did get better as more race cars went down. Lik you said nobody is perfect.

Thanks you, larry and everyone else for making It a track worth going to.

Would a concrete wall going down the track instead of the steel barrier keep the cars from flipping into the pit area? IDK but I think it would def. help. It happened almost right in front of me.

What blew and ran to the end of the track on Sat night? 10:45 / 11:15??

I was flaging the last kart race of the night when I hear a boom and see a car coming down the strip on fire. The driver did a nice job of not hitting the barrier at the end of the strip and the fire was put out quickly.

Was a black camaro with plexiglass scoop. It blew carbs off the manifold, because a huge NOS backfire on top end of the track.

                              It sure would help.

The track was prepped well for big tire cars. The problem is that the groove is always pretty small and half track to the end is not prepped well. Yes there were cars running 4.90's but they should have been in the 60's or 70's.

That rail just folded in to a launch ramp. I think concrete wall would be safer.
