How well would drag springs perform with out the air bag? I got mine from a friend and I didn't get the bag. I know they put the bag there to keep the car level on launch.

I've heard good things about 4 cyl springs up front and stock v8 springs out back. Is that what you mean by regular springs?

And oh I see, disconnecting and reconnecting wouldn't be a big deal at all. I was looking at team zs full rear suspension kit, and I like what I see.

If I did full suspension, front and rear. What 60ft time should I expect? 1.5 1.6?

That would be a world of differance and money well spent IMO.

      1.5x 60ft time would land me a 8.2x.

      That would be fun.

Might invest in a bag anyways, they're cheap.

No bag, sell the drag springs, get a set of good 4cyl springs from az for the front. Stock v8 in the rear, good lower control arm I wouldn't get any thing with solid bushings (poly are fine) hpms, lakewoods, or upr chromolys are all good choices. Poly bushings for the upper housing bushings, and hell even just boxing the uppers works pretty good. Get strange shocks and sturts and an anti roll bar from any place you like upr, team z, wolfe, baseline is all good stuff.

With the arb you will want to remove one link for street driving.

I would love to see this car run .20s or .30s

i dont understand selling the drag springs?? they are already specifically designed to transfer weight well.. why not put them on???

Why a no on solid bushings?

When getting theese kinds of short times would 31 spline axles be a must or will the stockers be alright? I figure with the lack of power they should hold up.

I can't remember exactly, but I'm thinking that right rear spring was a different rate than the left rear spring. If so, then you'd definitely have to run the airbag to even out the car and preload for launching. If they're the same rate, the right rear is gonna squat like a bitch and not plant the tires properly, unless the airbag is in place and properly inflated.

I bought an enclosed car trailer from a dude in Tennessee that got me hooked on 4-cylinder springs out back with the ARB. His car ran 1.24 short times on the back tires, so I can't argue that. I got constant 1.4's out of the same setup, but our gears, Windsors and nitrous shots were worlds apart. For the fronts, I continued using those blue Eibach Pro Launch springs...sold the rears with the bag and haven't looked back since then.

You're mileage may vary, of course. I tried some 4 cylinder springs up front, before the Eibachs and didn't come close to having enough ground clearance for 2" full length headers into 3.5" collectors. If you have some and it seems to be working, knock yourself out. IMO, whatever you have on there isn't optimal by at least .35-.4 seconds.

And oh I see, disconnecting and reconnecting wouldn't be a big deal at all. I was looking at team zs full rear suspension kit, and I like what I see.
Team Z, Wolfe, Baseline, etc...it's all high quality shit. Find a good deal on any of their suspension setups and run with 'em.

Sounds good. That'll be plenty of tire.

Holy shit, I haven't heard about Lidio Iacobelli in a lonnnng time. He's had some badass rides!

ARB eliminates the need for funky springs and airbags. Just set the bar up and the car's ready to rock. Only bag you'll need to worry about is Steve's on your chin

Solid bushings on a street car is gonna be one rough ass ride! The poly bushings are great up to about 400hp, then they start to get chewed up.

Stockers will last until they snap...I guarantee it. I'd suggest looking at a set of aftermarket axles and a quality posi. Might even be a good time to upgrade to 5-lugs, discs, nicer wheels...I can spend your money with the best of 'em LOL

                        Thanks for the information man!

I'll look into some 4cyl springs for the front and run some fresh v8 springs in the back with ARB. Looking at team zs complete kit.

I'll run some summit stars and eventually get moser 31 splines. I already have the 03 cobra diff clutches, so I think I'm ok on the diff for awhile.

Couple that with lakewood 90/10 and 50/50s or is there a better alternative?

Looking at a AJE k member and tubular a arms and well see how she flys!

15x10 out back and 15x3.5 up front.

Should run like a bat out of hell.
