I think he was saying he got a bye in the first round and red lighted the second, but it still makes no sense.

If it was on a county or state road the owner of the cow is responsible for all damages. If it was on an F/M road the owner is SOL

My Breeding bull is over 1600lbs, if it was anything like that at speed the car is a total loss

I almost hit the thing myself..... The bull was black and just hanging out right over the top of the hill. Whats crazy is there was a cop right on the side of 35 looking on the ground with his flashlight.

A calf will weigh 400lbs. A cow will be closer to 1000-1400.

And guys it's Relinquished, you should expect incomprehensible posts, tricks!

Sounds pretty stupid (on the part of the driver) - I assume they're not like deer and jump/run into your path.

Only jumping bulls I've ever seen had their balls tied up and some yocal on their back.

Texas is an open range state. Owner has no liability no matter if it's state road or not. The only way to get anything is to prove that the owner was not taking care of the fence and the animal had been out many times before. There is a trucking company here trying to get money from an owner over a truck hitting a cow. They are shit out of luck. All of the cattle are looking for food in this dry weather so it's hard to keep them fenced in when they are hungry.
