  • Poor Man's 3" fox Exhaust

I figured I would share this exhaust I made for a buddies car . I thought it might help out anybody using the cheap Summit/Flowtech long tubes that they don't make an X or H pipe for . The driver side header collector is about 5" out of line with the hump in the tranny cross member so I had to make a bend . I used all Summit parts including the 3" 3 bolt collectors , 3" universal X pipe , 3" Summit 2 chamber mufflers , 3" 180* mandrel U bend and an extra 3" x 4' straight pipe . I have run into these headers a few times so I know people are using them . I got it to tuck up real tight and it doesn't hang any lower then a frame connector . Please pardon the welds . Most are but joint and I use a wire feed with no gas so they aren't quite as pretty as allot that I see on the board . BTW , this is an 83 capri that is a total low budget toy saved from the crusher and has a HCI 306 with a 5 speed .

Dumps go well on certain vehicle. From the sounds of this car, I bet it wears them well

While I enjoy sound, it's the constant droning that makes me not like them mostly.

I like how some Regals are dumped behind each rear tire, yet still exit from the car

That's pretty well how mine is done. It will get redone at whatever point my new engine setup goes it but still be some form of that. My reference to dumps was meaning they basically just dump right in front of the differential.

                            for Texas inspection sticker

The exhaust must exit the body. I had a buddy die from Co in the winter while driving because his exhaust exited under the car. It was long ago in oak cliff,

While driving? I can understand idling somewhere for a long while.
