  • Christmas came a bit late..

Got a new welder - I had originally ordered one of the imported Everlast welders and was simply waiting for it to get here. I just couldn't handle the fact that if it broke down, there's no local service. So, I called and cancelled my order and bought a new Miller Dynasty 200DX. It was more than double the price, but as much as I use it - it's GOOD piece of mind.

(I know someone will ask - why the change? The new welder is an inverter type machine as opposed to a transformer - besides the obvious size difference illustrated below... they have a LOT more adjustability. Like, High Frequency, and wave balance. For AC welding, that's a BIG plus. The higher end machines do even more than that, but for now - this will work)

On frequencies over ~130Hz, this thing sounds like a model airplane on steroids!

The new welder is TINY. It weighs in at ~45lbs! The leads are long enough, that the welder sits in the front of the garage, and can reach anywhere that I'd work in the garage - and if I needed to move it, no problem.

This is the old Syncrowave 200 for reference. It weighed in at about 250lbs! (Note the millermatic 185 wire welder next to it, that's pretty close to the size of the welder above)

        I'm ready to start welding!

-Glad you found something you REALLY wanted and didn't settle for the other one... even though it was 2x the price.

I have had mine for 3 years now and still haven't figured it all out yet.
