I have never heard of this brand but this welder kit seems to be perfect for someone like me who is starting with nothing.

The reviews on that Smarter Tools brand welder were not very good.
I found this one and went to the eastwood website and did some research. Both the welder and the kit have amazing reviews. 3 year easy return warranty from eastwood.

I will be doing things around the house with it. Some of my bigger projects will be floor pans and inner fender aprons on a 65 Mustang. Also need to do some car hauler repair (the ramps) and projects like that. Might be welding in some quarter panel skins as well.Comment

I was looking at these so I could save my money and use it on parts for the project instead of the welder that won't be used often. I would love to have a Miller. I will look into their selection and prices.Comment

The eastwood look damn similar to my Lincoln 110v mig as far as the control layout, the body design, etc. Only difference is the black case verses lincoln's red. NOT SAYING IT'S A LINCOLN, BUT LOOKS A LOT LIKE IT. And similarly priced from what my lincoln cost at least several years ago when I got it.Comment

Cyberweld has the Hobart 140 for $550... I think you can get a Lincoln from Home Depot for $450 or so. Just use a 10% coupon from your post office in the new movers pack.Comment
