I can only work durng summer, so if i do well enough, this summer is the frame. I dont need anymore to play with, regardless of what blower i go for i can pnly make around 400 anyway, so why spend more doing it?

        • I'm surprised Henry hasn't added his $.02 considering he's had a Kenne Bell blown Cobra with 4.56 gears for as long as I've known him...going on 10 years now

I had a Vortech SQ on my '96 Mystic and it was fun. It wasn't really that fast, but it looked cool. I only ran it with the Superchips chip that came from Vortech, but it made a pretty consistant 380 rwhp, depending on the temperature. After a couple runs though it was more like 340...heat kills the power on these things.

My Cobra with 4.30s and the Vortech would still get outrun by my friend's '02 Camaro SS with just a lid and Borlas. With the gears that low it'd just accelerate right through the powerband and I'd be in 5th by 120 while he's still in 3rd gear and walking away from me.

The more power you make, the less gear you need. It helps to not blow through the tires, and lets the power and torque pull longer through each gear

Have u thought bout upgrading any of the suspension. It's more than just alot of power. Not trying to sound like an ass. just my 2 cents. We should lime them up at the cruise.

Yeah. Upgrading the suspension isnt gonna give me near the results though. Im not as worried about timeslips as I am highway runs, and the raw power of a supercharger.

Fair enough. I have a CDL and they are a little strict on things like that so that's why I am a track guy but to each is his own

<----- crazy teenager that still thinks he is invicible. Lol. Im sure that suspension will be after the supercharger. My suspension doesnt do too terribly as it is, after I make some more power I will worry about it

My $.02 is to not beat on your daily with boost, ESPECIALLY if you don't have money in the bank for a short block and install or whatever else may break. My '98 GT holed a piston making 420ish to the wheels, and it was a PITA riding DART while my car was being fixed. I was an "invincible" 20-something at the time.

Granted, the 4v makes power a bit easier, but if you beat on it, it's only a matter of time 'til something breaks. Might be the tranny, might be the rear end.

I understand the danger. I do have alternate means of transportation: my mom can take me to school, friends with cars, etc. If something breaks while I'm still living at home, it's likely my dad will pay or atleast help pay to fix it. Whereas once I go off to college, It will be on my shoulders. This is why I would like to get stuff straightened out sooner than later. This summer will be for a blower, and next summer, birthday, and christmas will be dedicated to making sure the car will be reliable when I'm at college.
