Vortech's are great blowers, very reliable, just not cheap when you buy them new.

No that's not what I'm saying, and no not all blowers are the same. It's not a hard statement to comprehend. do you want to go fast?, do you want to do it reliably? Do you want to do it cheaply? Pick any two you cant have all three

Doesn't that depend on a person's definition of fast? It seems to mean something different to everyone.

As I said, I think Vortech's are great blowers, good power can be made with them from S trim on up. My vortech never gave me a problem and I know many people have put thousands of miles on them trouble free.

I guess it just depends on what the individual expectations are.

You guys are failing to understand what I'm saying. LOL Your talking about a S trim on a previously modded vehicle. You can't make a lot of power cheaply and it be reliable.

I spent $2000 on my blower picked up 200rwhp and drive it daily.

And its only a matter of time....... So you spent 2000 that came with ALL the supporting mods, dyno tuning and everything needed to get it going? Either way I swear you guys have tunnel vision.....

He spent 2000 on something that came factory with a bottom end that'll take 1000+ hp, supporting mod's to that car is more in the tune and fuel system as far as the engine goes. Drivetrain that's a different story.

Main thing to keep in mind on the original post is that the kid will have @ $2500 to make hp upgrades to his ride. The best bang for that money long term is going to be a centri kit unless he can find a sweet deal on a kb setup that will bolt to his heads.

We all know that going with a built motor, kb mammoth, full fuel system, trans with supporting hardware and so forth will yield him the most power. But that doesn't fit into his budget.

I can pretty well assure you that a 18 or 19 year old or 17 or whatever he is doesn't need anymore than 400 hp.
