  • Damn the luck.

Did a motor and 5spd conversion to my beater the other day, started running horrible this morning to work. checked wires and cap, rotor. etc. Had a horrible miss to the motor, I take it home and tear top end down and expect to find a bent pushrod, no biggie. nope i had 2 rocker arms with threads busted off in the jamnut. Dammit. Was able to get the broke pieces out, now to the ford house tomorrow.

I would get a pushrod length checker and double check you have the right size push rods. For two of those to brake you have something wrong, too tight when setting the rocker arms, weak cheap rocker arm studs, or the wrong length push rod most likely. You could have other problems depending on what kind of valve springs you are using.
