  • Phenolic spacer - worth it?

Are they worth running on an efi car? Would it be worth the hassle of putting it on if you had one laying around?

Throw one of these on while you're at it.

If you mean a throttle body spacer, no.

The ones that go between the upper and lower work ok but you need one atleast 1/2" to knock any heat out of the upper intake manifold. It also lengthens the runners a little bit which should give you a little more low end torque as well.

I'm pretty sure he is talking about the intake spacer, at least that is what the manufacturers call the phenolic spacer.

An intake spacer might be worthwhile. I installed one on my '03 and it moved the peak HP threshold down about 200 rpm.

The only reason I have one on my car is to clear the Ford Racing Tall valve covers.

I might throw it one just for that extra low end since I drive like grandpa

2005 Hell it brings me back to 1989. I can remember the first time I saw a gt-40 intake on a car. We were at the place in Northwest dallas that was like a Kellers. A guy had a coupe with gt ground effects and it had a gt-40 intake on it and everyone thought that was some crazy shit, everyone just stood around and looked at it.

And the pic you posted is not even for a stock 5.0.
