  • I need help.

I have no extra money to throw at this.
Ok i have a 86 coupe. It was originally a v6 I converted it to a 5.0. It has a t-5 trans and a 8.8 rear end with 373 gears. It has a fresh balanced drive shaft and u joints. And a set of bbk upper and lower control arms. I have a vibration I feel threw the shifter and the car as I get faster not sure what it is and I would like to find someone who might can help. I love in Royse city and will drive it local. Thank
You and pm me if you will help.

Is it more speed or rpm related? If speed, does it get worse or does it come and go?

Some things to check, tail shaft bushing, wheel balance/bent wheels/bad tires. If you only feel it in the shifter, check your fan clutch and water pump for play. My 86 had a bad vibe under deceleration and it was a bad fan clutch.

It gets worse the faster you go. Almost sounds like a grinding noise. Idk. Guess I will drive it til it breaks

              Try re-clocking the drive shaft.

                      Bad Tire/tire out of balance?
                      Bent rim?
                      Engine/Trans mounts in good shape?
                      Has the harmonic balancer slipped?
If the engine was replaced/worked on, is it the correct balance on the flywheel, crank, and harmonic balancer?

Just throwing ideas out there - I'm too far away to come take a look or I would. If you must drive it, be easy on it.

                      Good luck.

Balancer new. New tires and balanced. Just rotated them same thing. Not sure on flywheel balancer weight. It is speed related not rpm. I can rev the motor all day as high rpm as I want no vibration. I am leaning Towards the rear end pinion bearing. It seems a lil loose where the drive shaft bolts to it.

I thought you changed the rear end?

Not yet. Was going to but hurt my knee before I could. It seems like the faster I go it goes from a vibration to a grinding. But might just be a bad vibration.

Ok with the drive shaft out and running the car I get the same vibration through the shifter. What would that be.
