  • 8.8?

The dog bone on the 8.8 should it be able to slide up and down or should it be stationary. Cause mine moves and wonder if that's causing my high speed vibration.

it should be stationary is what i would think!

it should be stationary if I'm not mistaking. I think it's bolted in, been a long time. it most likely is causing the vibe.

hmm, I've had gears put in several of my stangs and the shop always put it back on.

Ok yea I think it's one of those bushings that the shaft that goes through it should hold it all together. I will go get the one off the 7.5 I took off and see. But yeah mine slides up and down but I just looked at a guy across the streets and his doesn't go up and down. Just kinda wiggled. I hope that would be it.

Remove it. You'll never know it's missing, I promise.

Ok i will see how it does when I remove it. Be nice if my vibration at 80mph would be gone.

Worst thing thats going to happen is the car will get lighter.
A buddy of my dad works at a dealer and he said just get rid of it and continue on with life.. This was back in the ealy 90's

sounds more like a tire or driveshaft vibration to me, the "dog bone" was there to just absorb some of the vibration induced by having oval bushings in the lower control arms in the back. If youve gone aftermarket susp then ditch it but I dont think thats your vibration problem, check movement of driveshaft where it enters the trans, the output shaft bushing could be shot
