  • Vacuum leak help!!!

    So i just got a new motor in my 89gt. It idles like shit and i can hear a whistle sound. im running the 97 explorer intake. anybody every had this problem. Any ideas that i can do to fix it? Thanks!

    First You gotta find the source of the leak. Spray Carb cleaner around intake area. when you find the leak the rpm will increase or stumble.

      Did you happen to notice that there are a few more vacuum lines under the explorer intake versus the stock one?

      Most can be plugged off.

      Can you be more specific with where you think the whistle is coming from?

        Yeah i have the ones under the intake pluged. i went over the lower intake bolts put the upper back on and it still whistles. it seems to be coming from the driverside somewhere in the back. i know it can be a easy fix but if i cant find it im just gonna take it to a shop.

            egr valve

            vacuum lines along the firewall

              The shop i took it to said there was no intake vacuum leak he had to adjust the timeing. my altinator is bad and i think its cause the car to sputter!
