  • Lawnmower car?

I installed a newer gas tank lastweek on my 87 Gt. This tank was said to have come off a 90's fox. Anyway, after I installed the tank I drove it around all day and everything seemed fine. This morning when I tried to take it to school, the sob sounded like a gd Lawnmower, even in neutral when I gave it a little rev, it sounded like crap. Could it be that I might have put the pump in a funny way and it's not getting enough fuel? Or did I do something else wrong? What do you girls think? Damn cat sounded just like a Lawnmower....first I was like 8D ....then I was like 8(

As far as I know, The engine was running fine. I'll have to double check but when I gave it some gas it would pop and sound like crap. Maybe I'm running out if gas or running low?

It had all kinds of crap in it but I clean it out pretty well. Fuel filter?....it wouldn't hurt to replace I guess.

Well idk, I put a few bux of gas think that would fix the problem but it didnt. The engine seems to be running fine, just getting some backfiring and I'm thinking it might smell a little different also. Still sounds like a tractor though.....

Im pretty sure. I connected everything back the way it was. It ran fine after I installed the tank. I probably ran it for about 45 min straight. Hell Idk, maybe something fell off? Kinda sounds like it's not getting air.

kinda sounds like a fuel emission problem.

Didnt get a chance to drop it over the weekend but I'm thinking if it is fuel related, maybe it's the rubber tube that connects to the fuel pump. It might be pinched or bent too much. That's the only thing I had to replace, but how did it work fine for a while then all the sudden---------
