Got some new speakers for my truck and a brand new alpine head unit. The new head unit has a cut off switch if there is a short. The speaker's frame is made out of metal, as is the rear part of the cab where they mount. So now I somehow have to insulate the speaker before I can even mount it. GRR. The head unit just never comes on unless the speakers are not touching metal with their metal frame. I'm going to have to cut some kind of plastic outline for the speakers before I can even mount them. Gets on my nerves. Anyone else have a head unit that did this?
