  • any connections here with Bishop core

I'm finally trying to build a spare glide. I need a 1.76 gear set.
anyone with glide parts wanting to sell something pm me.
I need a manual valve body also.

on a side note, back in the 70's I bought parts from a old guy off Zang in oakcliff. He always had some cherry 4 bolt chevy blocks, cranks and heads cheap. His name was Mr. Moody, a really cool guy and was about 72 when I met him. I found out later he was the father of the family that started Bishop core.
Long departed. I still remember bartering with him. Here's to remembering Mr. Moody.

Hey Charlie: the only thing I get is new parts.
I have some contacts on some used stuff and I'll give them a shout and see what they have.
PM me with a parts list and let me see if I can help ya.

Charlie, check with bishop core supply for sure. They have got me out a few jams on a few different occasions. Great folks down there. I was looking for some really off the wall shit and they referred me to a core supply place out off 45 I believe( don't have the card here with the info). Place had everything I needed.

Also you need to check with Mike McGee @ Mikes Trick Shift (817-657-1419) He has a lot of glide stuff as well, and If he doesn't have it he can get it. Great guy to deal with. Tell Him Jet sent ya.

I've called Bishop 3 times this week, all I get is an answering machine and they never call back, disappointing since most of the family owners went to Lida Hooe just like me. I guess if you don't want to buy a trailer load your not worth a call back.
I don't get off in time to make it there before they close on weekdays, maybe I'll try tomorrow.

I need 10 kolene thin steels and thin plain alto reds for both my direct clutch packs, or whatever you can suggest for my racer that will work good. I'm not a fan of the blueplate specials. I have used a ton of B/W tans in my c-4's and they worked good .2 Kevlar bands, 1 grade 8 band screw, manual valvebody that will eliminate the governor, double ring band actuator piston, 8 reverse clutches and steels.
I have 2 transmissions to redo, one I fried when I put the linkage in the wrong dam hole and the other I'm building from scratch.
          Getting old sucks.
