so, about 6 months ago my rear end started getting noisy, and the trac loc is slipping

when
i took the cover off for inspection. i found lots of mettle shavings in gear oil,at that time i get a grate deal on a like new cobra 31spline DIF, however after thinking about it. do i really
need 31spline axles?

this car will never see slicks.or track time. so i would like ur opinions please.sale the 31spline unit. and rebuild my stock DIF. or spend $300 for 31spline axles?

BTW, i will consider off offers for the cobra. DIF

IMHO, there is no need for 31s if youre not going to put a sticky tire on it...if the gear oil contaminated (and of course its noisy), id be concerned if the gears were set up right too...maybe a bearing failing...whats the history? If its noisy all the time and not just in turns, the track lock is not to blame

Gears ware factory . It is noises all the time. Thanks ima post the rear on craigslist.
