  • 2004 F250 rear brakes

Trying to help my neighbor with his brakes and I'm not used to this big truck stuff. How do I get the rear rotors off?? Theres a plate with bolts and I assumed the hub nut underneath that. does this have to come off for the rotor or do I need to take the rubber mallet to it harder?

heres a link to the exact same setup.

I think their pressed on so you have to take the hubs off and press them off.

      This...need a spindle nut socket...not a beginner job really

edit...I could be wrong, id have to see it to be positive. It could depend what rear is in it too

hit around the hub face with a hammer. it justs slides over the hubs and parking brake shoes. only the drw trucks pre 05 i think have the rotor bolted on the back of the hub

Those are floating rotors you have to hit them off but if you hit them to hard or dent them you may have to replace them
