What mods for a 93 Foxbody?

I have only owned 2 mustangs in my life and both were pretty much stock. Did have a lightning, typhoon and other sports cars I modded heavily, but never really got around to it on the few stangs I have owned.

Im thinking about buying a 90-93 Mustang GT to play around with. Im wanting one low miles and clean and as close to stock as possible. A bit of a fixer upper, yet something that is pretty decent already. Was thinking maybe something in $5k or lower range now. then invest money in it as I go. I think body, paint, etc is what I care about most.

That being said, I know these cars can literally have anything done to it you can imagine. but without going crazy, what are the most common basic mods to beef it up a bit and make it still a very drivable car? I dont want to be dropping in new crate motors, NOS, etc... But if I could have whats equivilant to a low 12, high 11 second car and still look pretty stock, that would be my ultimate goal.

Gear, exhaust, cai, bumped timing, short belt, good tires, suspension for better traction.

Next step would be H/C/I and run 12's.

There are some other nitrous companies. Are they out of the question too, or is NOS the only brand you have a problem with?

Otherwise, high 11s or low 12s while looking stock is going to triple the cost of this car... at least. Fox Mustangs are slow.

1st thing you do is sub-frame connectors & torque boxes. Than gears 373/410, Exhaust. yada, yada, yada....

there are a lot of things you can do, but the question really is: How much $$ do you want to put into a 5K car? All of the bolt on's will add up quick. As alueded to in a previous post with 15K street car.
