  • Speedo cable

My speedometer has been jumping around in my 91 5.0 lx and the tach does not work until after 4000 RPM's so I decided to replace the cluster and speedo cable. Got the new cluster ready to go in but I am looking for a speedo cable now. I called Napa and they asked me if it's a two piece cable and I don't know. Anybody have any input on where to get one of these locally?

2 peice cable WTF? Never seen one of those on a mustang.

Just get a cable from AZ or oriellys.

Be sure to lube the cable, and make sure the routing is free of bends. Also make sure it seats well into the back of the cluster.

    Good luck.

I've never heard of a 2 piece cable either, lol. I will hit up a few places at lunch and try to round one up. How hard is it to route the new cable it looks pretty buried inside the dash back there?

My 86 6 cyl coupe had one. Before I put a 302 in it. The two piece has a speed sensor or whatever Dallas mustang told me. That was the first time I seen one too
