  • Fuel system questions

I need some help and ideas running my fuel system, plans are a1000 with -10 feed and -8 return, before and after pump filter, using 13204 regulator. All coming from 5gal fuel cell to carb.

Anyone running similar set up and have pics, i have searched and found a few but have some questions, and all is going in a 91 hatch

Where is a good place to mount pump, i know its better to mount pump lower than fuel cell but where,

Which is the best way to route lines, on my last set up they ran along subframes but they came to close to exhaust, does the heat affect temperature?

And yes pics want to see pics

Oso - pm me your number im guessing you changed last time i called it was disconnected

pump as close as possible to cell, lines along framerail, outside of the rail if worried about the temp, and I usually put bulkheads behind the pass strut tower

If you plan to drive it on the street it's a good idea to have the pump controller. That is what I have. So far so good. Here is the only pic I have available of the pump mounted to my tank cover.

Ok from reading other threads whats the advantage of using y block and having two lines?

Like i said im running my -10 from cell to filter directly on pump then after filter then back to -10 to regulator, from regulator i will have 2 -6 lines feeding to carb, will the two -6 keep up with the-10 supply? Will the -8 be enough for return?

Does a return have to come back in the cell from the top or will can i plug it into the cell beside supply?

pump controller will depend on the pump. The y block is to feed two rails, if carbed, you can do differently...

Do the -10 feed and the -8 return. It'll be fine. Put the return on the top of the cell. Some people clame that if the return is fed next to the feed then it could cause some "swirling" affect and restrict the flow to the pump. I have never seen this but to be safe just return to the top of the cell.

The pump controller is really beneficial for street cars. Keeps the pump cool. If your not driving it a lot on the street then there is no need for the controller.
