My dad bought me a K&N Typhoon cold air intake for my 07GT. I've looked over the net, and I cant figure out when you put a CAI on, do you have to have the car re-tuned. The car is completely stock. It seems silly to have to tune a car for a CAI. I know on the fox bodies, the computer made its own adjustment for the added air it was intaking. It seems on the net that its about %50/50 that the car needs a tune, or doesnt need a tune. I'm worried about drivability issues. I know a tune would be beneficial, but is it mandatory for a CAI addition. What's y'alls thoughts?

I think the most of what you're hearing is from the crowd that also says the car could use a tune even if it is completely stock (which it does help). My father put one on his 08 and noticed a difference for the better, but never got a tune.

I have to look at it and see if the MAF housing is larger. I know I have to screw the sensor into the new aluminium tube, so it may be bigger. There's nowhere on the box or the instructions, that say a tune is required.
@ Denny, did your dad use the same kit that I have or another brand. I dont know if a "tune required" is certain brand specific.
