This was probably the best collection of people telling what their experience was with X Brakes using X Master Cylinder and X Booster. Pay attention to what brakes they're using and whether it's front and rear. It seems to start making sense after I read through this one.....

Cobra Brake Install on Foxbody

LOL... I've heard the '93 Cobra booster is easier than the '94/95 booster that I'm doing since you don't have to modify the bolt holes in the firewall. I got all the stock stuff removed tonight, but still have to install all the new stuff before I'm done. The top right nut from the inside is definitely a bitch to get to. And of course I didn't remove the driver's seat as was suggested...

I don't know how the SN95 booster is but the Cobra one is massive compared to the stocker. The hard part is getting it to fit past the strut tower (and the clutch cable, upper intake, and wiring harness) while getting the studs in the holes. I did quite a bit of "re-contouring" on the strut tower as well as elongating the holes. It still isn't 100% in there.

I bought the 2000 R big brake kit for my cobra and will have my stock calipers and lines for sale soon if someone is interested. I bought these new from Ford Racing in 09 so they dont have that many miles on them.
OP, nice job. That is how they should have come from the factory.

They're about the same size. Only real difference I believe is the bolt pattern and thread pitch.

I'm about to do some research on it but, do you know how to go about gutting the proportioning valve?

It was obvious they had filled holes on this booster and relocated the mounting studs, plus it just wouldn't fit. Some careful massaging of the strut tower with a BFH eventually allowed me to drop it right in.

You know to PM me with that stuff.

Hell, that didn't take you any time at all! I've gotta take a little break from the underhood stuff since I need to order the FRPP prop valve plug. I was just gonna modify the stock one but I failed to realize that it was spring loaded until it had buried itself deep in my garage, never to be found again At least it'll give me a chance to get the rear done.
This project has reminded me why I decided to be an engineer instead of a mechanic.

I elongated all of the holes on the firewall, and was able to get it started into the hole. It wasn't seated all the way in, so I pulled it in using the nuts from the inside to seat it all the way. It's definitely a tight fit, but I was able to get it in without beating on strut tower or anything (just created some slack by opening up the holes on the firewall). That was definitely the hardest part, getting that booster in! I also installed the proportioning valve on the passenger side over where that little coupling is on the firewall. Seems like an odd place for it, but it was definitely the easiest place to put it since you don't have to cut it in or anything...
Edit: Oh yeah, I also broke one of the damn wires that go into the reservoir level switch. It seperated from the little terminal that goes inside the plastic fitting. Not sure just yet how I'm gonna fix that! You can see it dangling in the pic.
