Are you sure they are larger . I know the cobra brakes use a 13" rotor and the gt has an 11" but the calipers are both twin piston and they never looked bigger to me ? I know you can buy the cobra upgrade kit for the 94/95 and the 96 up and you don't have to change anything .

      Hmm, you may be right.

I drove around the neighborhood yesterday doing 40-0 runs trying to see if things would improve, but overall, it just isn't braking like it should. I can't get it even close to locking up the front while braking.

I wonder if I could swap MC for a '94/'95 and leave the booster alone? Or maybe a '93 Cobra MC with my stock booster?

Do the 93' cobra m/c and get the adjustable prop valve and adapters from maximum ms like the guy above posted. I'd try the fox booster before you go tearing it out. Make sure you get the booster pushrod length right when you swap the m/c.

There is a lot of good info in this thread. The Cobra calipers actually have a smaller surface area than stock and you're running drums in the rear. I don't think you need a bigger master, but a bigger booster for more assist. If you had rear disc I'd say a bigger master.

I have all 95 cobra stuff on my Coupe. Spindles, calipers. M/C. I am using the stock fox Booster. Works great with a firm pedal. i removed stock prop valve.
Have an adjustable for the rear disks.

For my Vert I have all 02 stuff. Calipers, spindles. I am using stock M/C and booster. I gutted stock prop valve. It has a soft pedal feel, but it stops on a freaking dime!

did you bed the pads in correctly? if not then that is why you are not able to lock up the brakes.. will take a few miles and different heat cycles to bed them in before they grab correctly..

Also, does the pedal feel soft, hard, go nearly to the floor? Does it pump up then feel firm?

Did you use the HF impact on all the bolts? I am thinking about picking one up to do my LCA install.

It takes a while for the pads to "seat in". When I did the 4 wheel disc conversion on my
'92 it took a good amount of time to "seat in" and stop right. I have the 40mm pistons rather than the 38's. I also did the MM 3 into 2 and manual prop valve.

It finally "got right" after I installed the Cobra booster from AZone. It is a fairly easy and cheap swap
                        with NO BEATING is REQUIRED!

I am about to do this same swap! Hope I can learn a few things from this thread. Deff. going to go with the 94-95 spindles.

Well, it sounds like there are lots of opinions on what will work, what's best, etc. I currently have drums in the back, but may consider going to disc at some point and don't want to go through this again, so I'm guessing the '94/95 MC, booster, and retrofit kits from MM are the way to go. How much bigger is the booster compared to stock? What is "bench bleeding" the MC? Any issues with arm length? (I've read a lot the last few days).

Yeah, you should. It'll work with the '96 but they definitely stick out further than I'd prefer.

I used it quite a bit (strut bolts, ball joint to spindle, tie rod to spindle, lugs, etc.) It's pretty darn handy and I picked it up on sale for $49!
