What year is your fox? The 91+ apparently have more room behind the strut tower.

I looked through the Motorcraft pigtail connector catalog but didn't spot the one you need for that sensor. Probably easier just to find it in the junkyard anyway.

As funny as it sounds, I'm going to try bypassing the prop valve and not using an adjustable one either. A guy I know on another forum has the same brake setup on two different cars and says he's got the adjustable prop valves on both of them wide open and still can't lock the rear brakes up. Anyways, I'ma give it a shot.

This project has reminded me why I decided to be an engineer instead of a mechanic.

I had a 88 with the 04 cobra brake swap. I didn't bother putting in the adjustable prop valve. I just gutted the prop block and was done. I couldn't lock up the rear brakes if I tried.

Cool! I'm definitely going to do some extreme braking tests on slick surfaces to be certain, but it's good to hear that a few people have come to the same conclusion.

Hoping to get this turd bled and back on the street tonight... I'm getting tired of looking at it sitting in the garage! I'm sure it's gonna smoke like a train while it's burning off all that brake fluid on my headers! LOL!

Ok, got it all bled and took it for a test drive around the block. I had the proportioning valve at full line pressure to the rears and it'll lock up the rear first. I came home and put the valve halfway between full line pressure and the maximum regulated pressure of 57% (that's what it said on the package that the greatest reduction would be). It got dark on me and I didn't wanna bang on the brakes too hard only to find out something was unbuttoned, so it's back in the garage for now. First impressions are that the brakes feel MUCH better and the symptoms I was describing before are gone. I think once I season the pads it'll only get better. I'll tinker with it some more tomorrow before it gets dark and post back the results. Overall, I think I'm done! Woohoo!

Congrats! God, that must be a good feeling. I got my prop valve plug yesterday so I'm back on track. Hopefully I will have time this week to get the rear done along with the E-brake, then I'll bleed everything this weekend and see how it does.

Regarding the proportioning, I probably should have clarified my previous post... supposedly no proportioning is needed with the four wheel Cobra setup. On the other hand, with drum rear brakes, what I have heard is that the proportioning should be nearly what it is stock.

Anybody have any luck with anti-moan braces with the Cobra rear discs and the North Racecars conversion axles/brackets? At this point I'm planning on just running without them until I find out for sure what works...

Cliff notes: you may need to space the caliper bracket to fit your needs and you need the cobra moan brackets with cobra brakes.

Ironically, no brake light (low fluid level) has come on... go figger...

Did you fix the connection for it? Or did the wire just ground out?

I haven't repaired or plugged in the connector... maybe someone pulled the bulb on the dash or something....

I ran the north racecar brackets without the antimoans. Only time it would moan was when I backed up. It really didnt moan that much. Just occasionally.

If I had to do it all over again, I would just put the 95 rear axles in and get the correct offset wheels.

I had 95 spindles on the front and I noticed my front track was wider than the rear. Plus with the 95 axles in the back, you can buy fords brackets and use the anti-moan brackets. Also it would widen the rear track, hopefully matching the front

Thanks! I remember coming across that thread a long while back. I have a stock trac-loc so hopefully I won't need a spacer as wide as yours.. fingers crossed...

Cool. I'll just try it without the anti-moans then. Thanks!

Hayburner used the complete 94/95 rear and it looks absolutely perfect. I'm sure it was a lot easier to swap in as well. It definitely seems like the way to go.

Glad you got it working right. Big brakes are one of the best modifications to these cars you can do IMO. But it's a total system where everything has to work together. Monster rotors/calipers won't be worth a shit with the wrong master cylinder.
