This '99 GT I picked up a few weeks ago has had a gear or bearing noise that has gotten notably louder as I've been driving it.
I pulled the wheels and brake rotors off the back of it today and listened to see if it was possibly the brakes making the noise, but it's still there, and seemed to be a lot more noticable once the brakes were off.
Anyways, how can I tell if I've got a bad bearing on the carrier, or could it be a pinion bearing?
Anybody done this before? Do I need to rent a bearing tool to get the job done?
