  • Can I do this..... tune question....

I have a 2000 GT (supercharged, built) and an 03 GT. I am going to be swapping my motor/trans from the 2000 GT into the 2003 GT. When I set my 2000 back to stock using the xcal, am I going to be able to put the tune from the 2000 onto the 2003?

Has anyone done anything like this? I get my car tuned at HPP and am not sure if the tune is locked to that one computer code or what?

I know that when you return a car to stock with an xcal w/ the factory tunes, you can sell the xcal and it work with someone elses car but not sure bout the dyno tunes and all and if they are locked to the computer?

You should be able to do so b/c once you connect the xcal to the other car it will lock on that one. The tunes should be able to transfer

If not can't you just swap the computers?

It would likely result in no-start from the anti-theft system. It takes the key, lock cylinder, instrument cluster, and pcm all being programmed together to allow the car to start. It would only require a reprogram for the anti theft to function I would think.
