  • No throttle responce on checy

    OK maybe some one can help me with this.
    I got a 1996 Silverado with a 5.7
    I got no Throttle response what so ever I give is exeleration and it gives me nothing tell the o2 sensor can catch
    up with it Just poping threw the intake and bogging down.

    I have replaced
    Mass Flow Sensor
    Throttle Position Sensor
    Fuel Regulator
    Fuel Filter
    and Idle Air Control Valve

    What am I missing?
    91 Gt convert convertible 5.0
    96 Silverado 5.7
    87 Hurricane 600
    02 CBR F4i 600
    Keep it Rubber side down.....Wheel count is optional

        unfortunately I can't check that I do not have a gauge to.
        I did fail to add it has a new Fuel pump also.

            idle its at 53psi
            at rev it goes to 65psi
            91 Gt convert convertible 5.0
            96 Silverado 5.7
            87 Hurricane 600

                timing is electronic AKA tdc

                        the distributor has not been removed from the truck or moved.
                        It ran fine up to a couple days ago.

                          Subscribing... I have a friend @ work with a 96' chebby 1500, 5.7L which has identical symptoms.

                          He's going to bring it by the house sometime this weekend so i can take a look @ it. I'll let you know if I find anything.

                          I plan on checking FP, pulling the plugs to read them, checking the base timing, (disconnect the brown wire from the dizzy to do this.. Like pulling the SPOUT on a Ford) & making sure the advance is working correctly to start. If all looks good I'll move on to compression & leak-down tests.

                          Personally, I figure that I'll find something up with the dizzy. Popping through the intake is a sign that there could be something up there.

                            I did do a complete fuel pressure test to day on mine and all looks good there.

                            example of the symptoms is like having a 1975 camaro and your fuel filter being clogged.
                            At idle it works fine but if you give it the gas it just false on its face and spits and sputters at you.

                              So you know that the FP is good... Do you know for a fact that the dizzy is good? The gear hasn't worn allowing the timing to be off, or an electrical failure of the dizzy?
