i just bought this car about two months ago and just know notice this
its rusted by the framerail right under the master cylinder i guess it had a break fluid leak at one time. i noticed it when i was changing out the master cylinder(upgrading to cobra one). i had a guy look at it he said it would be around 600 to 650 to repair and refinish. does that sound about right.

no my engine bay does not even match the body color. i was going to repaint it once it was repaired. it does not have to be beatifull but i dont want crappy patch work either. maily i want it to be solid.Originally posted by dangerous_sep View PostComment

if you remove everything on that sidewall that might interfere the price can be considerably cheaper than that quote.Comment

i was. i going to pull the engine too. i also have a car that the part can be cut off if need it. i mentioned all thats the price i was quoted.Comment

dang that are can be sectioned and cut then all you would need to do is re-weld the new piece in. next grind down the welds till they're nice and level with the surrounding area. add a little filler to fill in imperfections and properly level the area then sand and prime and your good to go. not too much work if you wanted to do it your self.

95 mustang gt. i dont know the first thing about welding or i would do it my self. so 600 is too much.Comment
