Actually before you go around trying to trash people you need to get your story straight! The title says 5.4, and now you are saying aluminum 4.6!!! Make up your mind! And the reason people are giving you a hard time is you keep trying to say that pushrods are shot and modulars are the only way to go.. That simply isn't the case.. Our shop car has run a best of 8.7 and guess what?! It's a pushrod!!! And we are only half way to where we want to be.. Guess what prostock cars are, hey they are pushrods!!
My suggestion is to sit back and take in what we are telling you.. Obviously you know more then we do so I guess I don't understand why you are here..

What the hell.
Mach 1 has a 4v.
I come here asked a simple question that hasn't even been answered.
All I got was people arguing what I want with my car. I asked a question and got questions in return. I am very coachable. Being coached and having people argue with you is another.
I want a aluminum 4.6 4v in my car. I don't care if a 351 will make more power, or will run faster with nitrous or a turbo. I didn't ask which was better. I asked what it takes to throw a modular into a foxbody.
If people would answer my questions instead of looking fr reasons to call me out I think we wouldn't have an issue.
I asked how to fix my shock tower and got 3 pages worth of horseshit. Enough shit brooks took it down.
What does it matter what and why I do stuff to my car. If you don't agree don't post, or post your opinion without trying to make and ass out of me. I treat people with respect and get shit in return. I respect the people here and what they have to say. And I don't get that in return.
And not being able to afford something isn't going to stop me from achieving my goals. I'm not easily discouraged.
You all have a nice day.
4v 2 cams is better then 2 valves and 1 cam. And if you dont believe that you have no room building a performance engine. Facts are facts

mike.. you are not going to get a mod swap for 6 to 7k.... shoot 10k atleast...things are going to add up in a heart beat. unless your buying all used stuff.
the new coyote would be pretty bad ass... jegs i think has it for 6500 right now... then a tranny. driveline...wiring...computer, Fabrication. suspension.. if you buy parts that are worth a damn its going to get pricey... but it would be worth it IMHO. id love to do that swap. if not a 5.0, go with the 4v 4.6 like you said and put a whipple on it.
Corral and Stangnet have good tech advice as well =)Last edited by FoxBodyNick; 02-24-2011, 12:28 PM.1993 Vibrant Red Cobra #1741.
If you want more inches - Stroke it!!!

I think the problem here is that you don't really have any goals set out. You keep saying that the modular 4 valve is better. Better than what? A pushrod engine with E7 heads? That's a no brainer. How about a 408 using a F4TE block, AFR 225 heads, Victor EFI or TFS R intake, 90mm tb, 1 3/4 Longtubes, custom cam, Fast EFI, and a properly setup chassis? Could use 42# injectors on that as a NA setup that could idle pretty damn good, get 24 mpg on the Hwy, make 450 rwhp & rwtq, and would probably run low 11's in a full trim street car. You could build all that for less than $5000, and a whole shit load less headaches.

Are you blind? look at chrevrolet.
Show me a 281cu v8 pushrod that makes over 300 n/a hp. Please show me.
Why are you talking about 351 and 408? That wont even fit under a stock hood.
But but but show me.
