Seems like $6-7K is shooting a little low, don't you think?

Chassis doesn't count because I'm Doing that regardless of swap.

I will wait and find deals and steals. Time is on my side

After reading this thread, there's just no arguing with a broke-dick dreamer. LOL!

The Cobra I keep talking about? I never brought it up, but if you need to be enlightened:

You brought up the money part. You were the one that said it would be cheaper. You are the one that will be smoked in the end.

Since that project will never take place, we can run with your current dip-jumper. I'll even give you the jump.

Your race would happen (at best) 3-4 years from now in your perfect world. My scenario can happen in June, if you really want to try.

I've completed a couple of mod swaps into fox coupes, including the full interior, wiring harnesses, and hydroboost brakes. I love a nice H/C/I blown pushrod engine. However, technology is where its at. The modular blocks are superior to the 5 liter production pushrod blocks even in stock form. Granted money shouldn't be an issue for a build like this, but after it's done, you'll have the newer technology in an older, lighter chassis. I say go for it. But learn from a mistake I made, don't just grab a 4.6 out of an sn95 and do the swap. Get the good stuff and make it worth while. It will be worth it.
I'm going to undergo another mod swap in the near future, but first I will have to to sell the new engine/trans/vortech combo I have to fund it. The more cost effective way to go is to find a wrecked terminator so that everything is there. That's how I'm going to approach it, which is how I completed prior swaps.

Dunno if I would go 3650 or t56.
I've done a coupe with an 01 cobra engine and a fairmont with a 3-valve, and had good results with both, but you're going to blow that budget out of the water.

It's a shit motor that fits in a fox car worse than it actually performs. Great for trucks, but it's way down on the list of great swap motors for a street car.
