Anyone running these? I'm thinking of going 255/45-18 and 275/40-18. With 4 tires and 4 wheels I'm looking at $1,238. Anyone have any reviews/info on the tires?
Thanks,
Bryan

nitto 555Rs are a good compromise of price, mileage, and traction.
nitto nt05Rs are better traction, but a little more money and wear a bit faster.
triple5s are bad about picking up every bit of sand and dirt off the road when theyve had a few miles put on them. mine did it when i had only worn them down like 15-20%. i've only had that problem with nt05rs when theyve been heated up real good. but they still get better traction at "normal temperature" than the 555s.
i currently have the 555s on the front, the non drag radial. and nt05Rs on the back
I have 275/40/17 and 315/35/17's on my Trans Am. For the 100 bucks a piece i paid for them i cant complain. They are a bit loud, but i have a bangin'' system so i don't really give a shit
I have the same tires (size and all) and I like them better than the perelli tires that were stock on my car. I have only had the tires a couple weeks though so i cant say anything about the life span on them.
I run 315/35/17's in the Sumittomo tires and have about 22K miles on them. They still have about 10K miles left in them. Traction is not the greatest, but not too shabby. I had Nittos on the back before and traction is about the same IMHO. They cost 1/2 what the similar sized Nittos cost. I'll be purchasing another set. I put about 25-30K miles a year on the car.
I have them in a 255 on a 16 inch rim. They suck, as far as traction. When I get another set of wheels, I'm going to go ahead and spend the coin on a good set of tires.

Good to know. thats about the normal life span of a tire if your not hard on them or have alignment issues.

Holy shit you're lucky. Mine lasted MAYBE 15k miles max. I'm thinking it was more like 12k.
