This is exactly what I am leaning towards. Lower mile 6.0, and just start from there, although its hard to beat the "buy in" price of the 5.3 . None the less, I enjoy the continued discussion.

I picked that one up yesterday. Its got the harness and all the FI stuff but like the seller said its gonna need a rebuild. I need to find an ECM and figure out what all these sensors and connectors go to on the wiring harness

When I daily drove my TA 5 years ago, It made around 410/405 with a 232/234 cam through a 60e. I was very mild mannered. It wouldn't be hard to replicate it

I need to do some research into whats available. I dont know if they're all different and what would be available to me in the junkyard. You're about the same distance as all the yards on Jefferson from me

                        Yeah, rear wheel.

ls6 intake, ported TB, stock 241 heads with valve job, cam, long tubes, duals, pulleys, speed density tune. It went a 7.15@96 on some old BFG drag radials.

It made above average power for the size of the cam, I think it was that we paid attention to all the small things.

Really nice. I remember seeing several "cam only" 400rw cars years ago. So I figure keeping it simple with the 6.0 would hit near the same mark.

Yeah forget everything you know about V8's. LS1's, the new coyote type motors and pretty much any modern V8 respond real well to mods. A cam swap is usually all you need to make 400+ on a LS motor.

Like I have said, get you a stock low miles 6.0L (even a 5.3 wont make much less power) and stick a cam in it and roll with it. Very good street manners and make big power. Stick a nice stall behind it and you will be real happy.
