  • GT40 heads?

Hey guys I've been looking for a good set of GT40 heads not "P"....dont wanna deal with the spark plug issues....I know they have 3 bars, I came across these and the guy hasn't responded about them....Are these GT40s?
Or anyone trying to get rid of some, i'd prefer to not have to take them for any machine work...and complete..with valves..Thanks guys!!!

Yes those are 3 bar gt40 heads . The spark plugs on the p heads come straight out . You can see by the pick they are angled so they are not p's .

Look for allignment of the vales . Make sure they are all seated in at the same height . Look at the valve tips for wear from the rockers . Look at the valve heads for cracks or not being seated properly in the cup . Look all over for cracks , especialy in the chambers between the valves and around the water jackets . Take a straight edge and set it on the face and check for flatness . Look for broken or stripped bolts and broken springs . Look for signs of rust from water leaks . Hope this helps .

For that kind of $$ I'd try and find a used pair of aluminum heads. By the time you put some decent valve springs in those heads you could buy a new set of trickflows.

$500 is over halfway to a good used pair of aluminum heads. Been there, done that. Not worth the time, money, and effort for the return investment, IMHO.

He is talking heads , rockers and springs for that . I think its worth it for a stock 302 . I like the way gt40's work on them and I have had both alum's and gt40's . Once you go past the stock ci you should upgrade .
