    adjustment, my bad

I popped the rubber cover yesterday to adjust the spider gear on the parking brake for my truck. I managed to get the thing spun a few turns, but nothing changed making me think the shoes inside are probably shot. When putting the cover back on, the damn thing pushed thru the hole and fell into the shoe/drum area of the parking brake assembly. I found a black rubber plug to cover the hole temporarily, but I need to get that thing out of there.

How expensive are the shoes to replace, and more importantly what do i need to do with the spider gear and stuff inside there? I guess i'll have to pull the rotor today to get the plug out, but while i'm in there I think I want to just replace the shoes and stuff. Any tips/tricks?

    TIA.
