Going through an MT82 and replaced the 2nd gear, 1st/2nd gear synchronizer assembly, and 2nd gear synchronizer rings. The new slider that came with the new 1st/2nd gear synchronizer assembly is slightly different that the OE piece. The inside teeth of the OE slider has six total teeth missing (one on each side of the struts) where the tab of the outer synchronizer ring rides. The new slider does not have these teeth missing and the tab on the sync ring fits in there pretty tight. This is making the gear selection between 1st and 2nd gear pretty damn hard with the transmission on the bench. Anyone ever ran into something like this before? Maybe this is some kind of part revision to keep the slider engaged into the gear and not slip out? Every picture I find on the internet of this part shows it as the OE design....?
