Air compressor gave up the ghost.

Well, after around 14yrs, my Cambell Hausfeld Professional just quit a couple of months ago. It has been a very dependable unit contrary to what people might think. I would like to repair it and keep it since I really can't make such a big purchase at the moment. I just don't know where to start to diagnose the issue. Anyone know what the common culprit would be so I can start there?

Not sure of that particular model, but.. Most people don't keep up with filter changes and oil changes leading to seizure of the valves then the pistons.
Will the motor run without the belt on ? IE is the motor locked up or the pump ?

its just a tank and a motor ain't it? do a motor swap. or up an LS on it.

I changed the oil routinely twice a year. Filters done at the same time.
It's not coming on at all. I'll have to remove belt tomorrow and see if I can turn it by hand. I'm thinking it's electrical by the way it stopped working. It was in mid cycle and just stopped. No awkward noises or anything.

I would start with the pressure switch. Need to check voltages in and out of it to make sure power is getting to the motor.

When you have nothing to lose, sometimes it makes sense to start pulling it apart a little and fiddling. When you say mid-cycle was it almost at pressure or there and just never came back on, or just still building pressure?

I was doing some grinding at the time and what I remember is that the cycle began and it maybe ran for about 30-45 seconds and stopped. So if I had to take a guess, it was at the bottom of the cycle.

Have to ask, did it trip a breaker? Had one do that that required some work.
