Gauges-Mechanical or electric?

I've only used mechanical gauges for my cars (oil psi & temp). Which do you prefer and why?

I like mechanical for my pressure gauges and electrical for temperature, mainly because I don't like the large senders required for electrical pressure gauges.

Mechanical, if anything, at least on the water temp. This way, you don't have to turn the key on for a reading.
