KISS!
Disc brakes on the rear look cool but, drums are all you probably can ever use.
If you buy a kit that uses your stock spindles you will not have steering
issues (No bump steer kits and associated problems).
Get a "Cobra" break booster.
Wheel selection for the front must be considered too!
I did mine with all the scrounged up "low buck" sleaze bay way.
I chased all over you know where for some parts but then again
the sport of the hunt!
Good luck!
Lots of help here from some real pro peeps!

As stated by others above it is one's wheel selection that determines what one does.
Some of the kits use stock rotors off Ford passenger cars (think Grenada). The problem
is the center hub is large so late model wheels (stock Cobra) will not fit.
Fords pricey M-2300-K was a few thousand dollars. It included everything required
to upgrade the brake system sans the lower control arms.
I did the early SN95 lowers too. It messes up the steering geometry so a bump steer
kit has to be added and a lot of adjusting to kind of band aid it to feel rightish.

Did 94/95 Spindles with 03/04 cobra brakes on mine and left the rear drums. Used new axles from summit, new drums from O'reillys (turn them if you can even new they are not straight sometimes) new rear diff clutch kit since I had it apart, washers spacers on the front tie rod/spindle, removed quad shocks for the 285/35/18 rear tires. The alignment was so far off I could hardly drive the car over to the alignment lift 100' away. Set the toe and gone.
