Well, after a year and a half of the car barely moving, it looks like we're going to be able to put some money into the wife's 94 blue vert.
Frankly, it needs a lot of help and I'm not sure its really monetarily worth saving, but I'm going to give it a shot.
The status and questions are below.
The car is currently drivable but does seem to have some issues that I've already done some work on...
1. extremely rough idle, bucking and gas smell.
(Fixed.... I replaced about 10 feet of multiple sections of vacuum hose mostly around the canister purge valve and evap canister)
2. Slight vibration\miss in the engine when increasing the rpm.
(Going to do a standard tune up next weekend with new plugs\wires to see if its spark related. Going to do some minor cleaning\adjustment of the throttle body\upper intake while I'm screwing with it)
3. Tires are shot, so at least 2 new ones will be in order
4. alignment.... as in needs one....
5. AODE transmission... this one is worrying me.... higher than normal revs are required to get the car moving but shifts fine once going. Who knows the last time the trans was serviced and kind of scared to see what the fluid looks like when I drop the pan for the impending flush. Anyone know the chances of whether this will really help or if a rebuild is usually the answer here? (in this case the money just isn't there)
6. The rear windows are shot... one is the motor and the other's track is probably shredded. (Feel pretty confident I can handle this myself)
7. Driver's side door panel is wonky, so a planned visit to pick and pull is in order I guess.
8. Convertible top just needs to be completely replaced and I have yet to decide if this is something I feel that I can handle or if we are going to fork over the money to have done.
Any observations or tips (especially with the aode) would be appreciated....
