  • Radiator Modification

I grabbed a new fabbed cheap aluminum radiator from ebay but the lower neck is positioned poorly and is the wrong diameter.

Anyone know a place that i can take it and have them re-position it with a larger tube?

I called one place that told me to call Able Truck Plano. I called them and they said they couldn't weld on the tanks because of seals or something. That doesn't seem right to me since this is a fabbed radiator, there wouldn't be seals since its all welded.

Any reputable welding shop should be able to handle that. In Stephenville I take all my aluminum stuff that needs wides to a guy that repairs aluminum horse trailers and he does a great job

I called them back to get some clarification and apparently even though it's welded the core is still sealed some how and brazing or welding on a new neck could still ruin the seal due to the heat introduced.

They might do it anyway but couldn't garauntee it would stay sealed.

The guys at Able are generally pretty cool but what they are saying makes no sense if its an all aluminum radiator. Give Matt on here a PM. I talked to him a couple months back about changing the outlet on the radiator for our international. He said he could do it no problem.

Matt doesn't take PMs. At least that's the message I got when I tried to send him one.
