The tooling cost for a mandrel bending machine is in the millions of dollar range. You need unique tooling for every single pipe diameter, wall thickness, and bend radius. There will NEVER be a muffler shop that will be able to make mandrel bends on the spot to order. You can use commonly stocked bends available from many sources to make your own exhaust system.

I doubt he is expecting a shop to custom bend the tubing. Pretty much standard practice to build from formed bends. That being said these guys had a mandrel bender set up for 3" when I was at their place a few years back. http://www.prtperformance.com/

I would also consider sending the user MATT on here a PM. He may be willing to build you something and if not should have some contacts who would get it done for you.

Oh and Google says that George's muffler shop in South ft worth has a mandrel bender and will custom fit whatever. I just don't know anything else about them and was looking for solid recommendations. I had no clue it was that rare.

The cheapest machine on the market starts at 40k and the tooling cost makes the machine look cheap. I am floored that a muffler shop bought one. They must be REALLY serious about what they do. It is worth a drive out to them to check the place out and I may head that way around lunch time this coming Monday.

Ok, I'm digging this back up as I am needing to source a place to do my exhaust soon. I cant for the life of me get in touch with George's muffler shop in Ft Worth. So I googled a few places with about no luck. Called a place called Rich's performance muffler and he quoted me over the phone 3-5k with using pre-fabbed bends......... I laughed as I hung up on him.

I don't care if a place buys the bends and hacks them up to fit or not but who around here does this shit?

Call Brian at the muffler king on garland rd, tell him what you want.
