  • 1/4" Drive Ratchet

I'm tired of exchanging my craftsman 1/4 drive ratchet every other year. Who makes a good one?

Is anyone tool truck brand better then the other? I've seen a Cornwell truck here in town.

I turn wrenches for a living. Snap-on wrenches and ratchets are a must in my opinion. Sockets and stuff like that are more of a whatever in my book.

I'm sure a cornwell 1/4" ratchet will be worlds better than a craftsman. Hell, I'll take Pittsburgh stuff over craftsman any day.

There is no better ratchet than matco 88 tooth ratchets. They are very strong and smooth as can be. I practically gave my snap on away after trying the Matco one for a bit. I have a 6" swivel head locking 1/4" ratchet. Expensive but worth every penny.

Their 1/4" drive ratchet is the only one I have and I love it. But for most stuff I just use an adapter on a drill or impact driver.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Snap-On hands down! Esp. the little fine tooth one. It shines when you can only turn it
about 1/4 the click of the rest...

Couldn't agree more. All of my ratchets are Snap-On, but my sockets are Craftsman (when they were still made in USA), Snap-On, and Williams.

You can save yourself some money and get new or almost new Snap-On tools on Ebay much cheaper than retail price you pay on a truck.

As everyone said, Snap-on or even Matco makes the best, imo...

Snap-On is the only ratchets I use. I've broken a lot of Cornwell and matco one's and gave up on them.

Proto is another option. Made in Dallas if that means anything to you. For significantly less $$$, you could pick up a DeWalt set. Some of the same Proto technology in the ratchets like high tooth gear count. Lifetime warranty. The Crapsman stuff is terrible now.

Snap-on makes CAT tools and are covered by snap-on warranty, quite a bit cheaper too.

Snap-on for sure, i gave away a MAC (same size as my snap-on box classic 96) box COMPLETELY full of Craftsman tools to a friend after i started buying snap-on stuff in 05-06.
