Well as some of you know, I had my A/C compressor clutch go out. I decided to replace the entire compressor since it was only around a hundo more than the clutch alone (Rock Auto - $272.00 no tax). The A/C comp. has been on my car for 5yrs/60k miles and I use it all of the time.
As I installed everything back together, I got to the stretchy belt part of the install, well it seems you can install it with a crank tool or a plastic wire tie, but after looking at how far the belt had to stretch, it was obvious to me that this was probably the culprit in the premature clutch failure.
I went ahead and ordered a Ford motorsports tensioner pulley kit from LMR https://lmr.com/item/LRS-8620DK/ford...kit-5-0l-11-14
The kit comes with the tensioner, idler pulley and belt (two bolts). This will direct fit 12-14 5.0's, the 11's must have a new TC cover since the BOSS threads are not present like they are in the 12-14 5.0's.
Oh and it comes out alot easier on the auto's if you remove the front stabilizer bar since the transmission cooler lines have to be removed to take out the comp. from the top.
After a vacuum and re-fill with syn 134a, its blowing at 45.5* through the vents...
